Excellent place! Authentic Hong Kong style noodles. Wanton is bigger usual but it tastes fresh. Beef brisket is tender and juicy. The staff, the food, songs, and style just remind me of HK. I enjoyed it and will be back.

Hong Kong is loaded with street vendors and small restaurants. Its cuisine is a unique and diverse culinary tradition that reflects the city's history and culture. It is a fusion of Chinese, British, and Southeast Asian flavors and techniques, with a focus on fresh seafood, noodles, and rice. Open since Thanksgiving 2022, this establishment is about a block from a plaza with nearly a dozen Asian restaurants and the H Mart Korean supermarket in Edison. Located on Route 27 off of Plainfield Avenue, Wonton Guy is not Chinese-American food but authentic Hong Kong fast food, where I decided to have lunch today. Upon entering, I was greeted by the staff and got a small table right away inside a cozy, sparse dining area about 10 tables, an open kitchen, and one full wall showing the bright lights of Kowloon in Hong Kong at night. The menu specializes in wontons, of course, in a soup, or just noodles with soup on the side (lo mein). I went for the Two Toppings Lo Mein with shrimp wonton 雲吞 and beef brisket 牛腩, which were the most popular. Complimentary hot tea started the meal. The meal came out quick and was served hot. It focused on its bold and complex flavors. The broth was made overnight, and the huge wontons stuffed with shrimp and pork, making them hearty and satisfying, were freshly made every morning and tasted authentic. The brisket was tender. The price was very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful with what to recommend; my server was Ray. It was a great deal, and I recommend this place.

This place has authentic hong kong style wonton noodles. The egg noodles were the perfect texture and I finished all the broth at the end. The wontons and dumplings were so good and are filled with shrimp and they were huge. Beef brisket was perfect as well. Don’t forget to try the fried fish skin and put some chili oil on them.

This is my third times here. Always ordered two topping egg noodles soup. The best one is Wonton. There are three and each is huge with 2 jumbo shrimps. The second best is dumplings. There are shrimps inside as well. Wonton and dumplings are umami! The last topping I have tired is beef. It is still good but Yuntun is definitely the best! The price is also very affordable.

If you’re a dumpling and Chinese foodie enthusiast like me, Wonton Guy is a gem you need to visit. Nestled right next to HMart in Edison, this spot delivers incredible flavors with impressive speed. I stopped by for an early lunch, and here’s what I ordered: 1 Dry Deep-Fried Fish Skin: Perfectly crispy and seasoned just right, this was an addictive snack to start the meal. A textural delight that’s light yet indulgent. 2 Shrimp Wonton Noodles (Lo Mein): Silky smooth wontons packed with juicy shrimp paired with chewy lo mein noodles. The balance of flavors and textures was spot-on. 3 Fish Dumplings: Fresh, flavorful, and plump, these dumplings had the perfect bite. Each one was bursting with a delicious fish filling, and they were perfectly cooked. Service was incredibly quick—everything arrived piping hot within minutes. The flavors reminded me of authentic Hong Kong-style comfort food. Highly recommend for anyone craving a no-frills, high-quality meal. I’ll definitely be back for more!

We came on a Saturday at opening and it was filled with hungry patrons within minutes. The steamy dumpling soup was perfect on a wintry day. I’m a huge fan of these packed dumplings filled with plump shrimp. My wife wasn’t a fan as she prefers soup dumplings so don’t expect that here! The beef if tender and perfectly seasoned with that traditional Chinese 5 spice flavor
